Nancy Paul was the daughter of Samuel Hillas Paul, born June 20, 1829
Russell Co., KY, d. July 4, 1911 Russell Co., KY. He married Nancy
Richardson and they had the following children:

(James Paul, Sr., James Paul, Jr. & Samuel Hillas Paul, were all river boat
captains. Not sure about James, Sr. on which river but I believe the
Cumberland. James Paul, Jr. was on the Ohio River between Louisville &
Cincinnati. Samuel Hillas Paul (my gg grandfather, was on the Cumberland
River. Not sure how far into Kentucky he went but he went to Nashville to
get supplies. I have one of his log books from the 1880’s.)
James Paul, Sr. was the son of Samuel Paul and Unknown. Have not been able
to get back any further.
